The Brief

Get large numbers of students to try the new flavours of Maggi Pot Noodles. Students eat a lot of noodles!

The Solution

14 Universities throughout NZ agreed to be involved in a hot Maggi Noodle Sampling campaign during Re-Orientation Week.

The Rollout

Brand Ambassadors were used to sample the noodles in strongly branded stands.

Students were encouraged to make the noodles up themselves from the hot water urns to educate them on the new preparation technique these noodles required.

Vouchers were also given out to drive purchase.

THE IN GROUP negotiated competitive packages with all universities which included advertising in student magazines, radio adlibs, Facebook posts, posters, website and twitter.

The Results

  • The campaign had huge impact with 20,250 students enjoying hot noodles.
  • Post campaign research revealed the students LOVED the new noodles and identified the most effective media.
  • This campaign was repeated at a later date with another variety of noodles.
