The Brief

To support the grand opening of various Countdown Supermarkets around the country, a range of Countdown’s Own Brand products and Bulk foods were demonstrated. The idea was to drive awareness of these products in order to help customers save on their grocery bills.

 

The Solution

From June to December, 40 (4 hour long) Own Brand demo’s were undertaken at various Countdown store openings around the country. The stores were Countdown Stratford, Countdown Vogeltown, Countdown Mangere East, Countdown Christchurch Airport, Countdown Queenstown, Countdown Hobsonville, Countdown Northwest, Countdown Fairysprings and Countdown Claudelands across which various Select, Homebrand and Gold products were demonstrated.

 

The Rollout

Various Countdown Own Brand products were chosen depending on their suitability to the new stores demographic.

The Brand Ambassador’s encouraged customers to try all flavours in the product range and had engaging conversations with them to gain an understanding of the customer’s awareness and perception of the brand being sampled.

Effective demo stand branding was used to stand out from the crowd at the busy store openings.

 

The Results

These demo’s were all very successful with over 9600 samples given out to date.

The Brand Ambassadors managed to sell out the entire Select Muesli Bar range in both New Plymouth stores and the Gold Biscuits range at the Countdown Queenstown opening.
